Our versatile pump seals are expertly designed for vertical multi-stage pump systems. They are essential for compressor agitator applications, where advanced bearing seals ensure efficiency and reliability.

Mechanical seals are the unsung heroes of any machine or pump, playing a critical role in preventing leaks that can lead to extensive damage. With both primary and secondary seals, each comprising an array of specialized types, choosing the right seal is paramount. For expert guidance on the ideal seal for your pump, Priest Electric offers invaluable insights.

The primary mechanical seal system is composed of a stationary and a rotating seal, both engineered to perfection. These seals, meticulously lapped to meet within two light bands, are exceptionally flat and 'rub' against each other to prevent leakage. Although minimal vapor leakage might occur, their flatness, at an impressive 85 light bands to a thousandth of an inch, ensures exceptional sealing performance.

The secondary seal focuses on the rotating face, which is firmly sealed to the shaft using durable elastomers, while the stationary face is secured to the stuffing box or gland by a robust gasket or elastomer. Spring pressure and hydraulic forces from the sealed fluid maintain face alignment to prevent leaks. Proper shaft movement through the elastomer is crucial; obstruction can open the faces, allowing dirt or abrasives to intrude, leading to potential wear and tear. Ensuring lubrication is vital to prevent rapid wear from friction and heat generation.
